Hayhurst & Co has remodelled the North Sea East Wood residence in Norfolk, England.

Located at one of the highest points in the North Norfolk town of Cromer, North Sea East Wood sits in a unique location between views of the North Sea to the north and East Wood to the south.

This project comprises the remodelling of a 1980s bungalow for retirees Michael and Stephanie Hayhurst, the architect's parents.

The remodel reorganises the existing house and provides a modest extension that maximises views: a house designed uniquely around how the owners wanted to live and in response to its site.

This project has been shortlisted in the house extension category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
