Beham Architekten has designed Hotel Bergeblick in Bad Tölz, Germany.
The hotel is an encouragement to a way of working with wood that not only tolerates its imperfections, but transforms them in every facet into a positive architectural, aesthetic, structural or ecological function and enrichment.
The result is a changeable, authentic beauty that is allowed to change with the seasons and over the years and can therefore always be experienced individually.
"Our client's brief was to develop a concept for a nature and deceleration hotel that interacts as much as possible with this unique natural environment," said Beham Architekten.
The aim was to respond to the needs and requirements of future guests living in an increasingly overloaded and fast-paced world; this ideology promotes life-cycle, material-oriented and handcrafted constructions using regional, natural materials.
This project has been shortlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
