Foster + Partners has extended and refurbished the Bodegas Faustino Winery, realising the legacy of the fourth generation of the Martínez Zabala Family in their flagship winery located in Oyón, Spain.

Bodegas Faustino is located in the heart of Spain's Rioja wine region, where the design reimagines the winery as a whole and reconnects the existing wine cellars with the surrounding vineyard.

A series of interventions breathe new life into the cellars and raise production efficiency by 30%, complemented by a new visitor centre, which is designed as a 'Planet 1.0' building.

The visitor centre showcases Faustino's culture and embodies Foster + Partners and the Familia Martinez Zabala's shared interest in sustainability, which is integral to the project at every level.

This project has been shortlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
