Archigrest and TopoScape have designed the Park on the Warsaw Uprising Mound, a memorial park in Warsaw, Poland.

The Warsaw Uprising Mound is a rewilded urban enclave on a former landfill – once a dumping site for post-WWII, now integrating its historical rubble into a vibrant landscape that merges commemoration, nature and public space.

Over the decades, it formed a 40-metre hill, later overgrown with vegetation that became a ruderal forest. The site was adapted into a public park, highlighting its ecological and symbolic potential.

The Mound was thus reclaimed in three ways: by nature, symbolically and physically by integrating the rubble into its design. Once inaccessible and dangerous, it is now bustling with life.

This project has been shortlisted in the landscape and urban design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
