L Architects has designed the interiors of My Last Home, a renovation project of an original dwelling house located in the central region of Singapore.
My Last Home is a renovation project of an existing two-storey intermediate-terrace house that was built 30 years ago.
This project was designed for a retired professor who was returning back for his retirement as his last home.
"In this project, we wanted to rediscover the original spirit of the house, which we believed had an interesting story to tell," said L Architects.
The 30-year-old house had a "set of good bones with one significant drawback" – the scarcity of natural light, especially on the first floor.
The remedying result was to remove all unnecessary walls and relocate the existing bathroom to the left side of the house to create a more permeable layout.
This project has been shortlisted in the residential interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
