IARA has designed the interiors of Harmony Across Eras: Treasures From The Collection of The First Ambassador of Finland to China, an artefact and art exhibition project in Beijing, China.
This exhibition showcases the personal collection of the first Finnish Ambassador to China, Mr Cay Sundström, highlighting the deep cultural exchanges between China and Finland.
The design, inspired by Finland's natural landscapes, creates immersive spaces – The Friendship Forest, The Ambassador's Reception Mansion, and The Friendship Lake – which invite visitors into a sensory journey.
By blending Eastern aesthetics with Finland's tranquil beauty, the exhibition celebrates Sino-Finnish cultural integration, offering a unique experience that connects art, history and the enduring bond between the two nations.
This project has been shortlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
