How About That has designed the kitchen interiors of Henriksen House in St Albans, England.
This kitchen blends thoughtful design with hands-on craftsmanship. Clients and self-builders Michael and Hannah upgraded IKEA cabinets with bespoke plywood doors and recessed handles, while also handcrafting a polished concrete worktop.
The kitchen seamlessly extends into the utility area, where tall cupboards integrate into the stair handrail and plywood louvres conceal a hidden pivot door to the utility.
Overhead, a birch plywood and glulam beam ceiling, paired with an eight-metre skylight, bathes the space in natural light. A true reflection of the home's ethos – honest materials, craftsmanship and practical beauty.
This project has been shortlisted in the kitchen interior category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
