Raw Edges Design Studio has designed LightMass^, an innovative lighting collection.

LightMass^ is a collection of sculptural lighting that is hung below a beam. Bespoke flat meshes are printed using bio filament, which is then tailored into airy, voluminous structures using its specially engineered zipper edges.

Large and voluminous, yet minimal in form, weight and waste, the single bio-printed material structures elevate spaces with their sculptural illumination.

The downlight is separated, allowing the mesh to interact with the beam: when off, the structure appears as a see-through; when on, the light reveals a defined, beautiful contour.

As a result, LightMass^ represents a new approach to illuminating space.

This project has been shortlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
