Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2025 emerging architect of the year, Pihlmann Architects is a Copenhagen-based studio founded by architect Søren Pihlmann in 2021.

The practice explores the use of experimental building materials whilst championing existing resources.

Pihlmann Architects recently unveiled a community hub inside a 1960s factory as part of Copenhagen Architecture Biennial 2025. The project's furniture was built from disused doors, while its stairs were made by "flipping" concrete floors.

The revitalised factory houses studio spaces for artists in addition to a library, workshops, exhibition rooms and offices for a range of organisations.

Pihlmann Architects is shortlisted in the emerging architect of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
