Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2025 emerging designer of the year, Sanne Visser is a Dutch designer and researcher based in London.
Her studio focuses on material innovation, with a particular interest in regenerative and circular design.
Visser is recognised for her work with human hair as a renewable material, using traditional rope-making techniques to transform hair into handspun yarns.
Since 2024, she has led the HairCycle project – a community-led initiative that turns human hair into high-quality materials for textiles and interiors.
Sanne Visser Studio has collaborated with a range of brands and institutions, including the Design Museum, Nike, the V&A, FranklinTill and TextielMuseum, among others.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Visser is also a PhD researcher and associate lecturer at University of the Arts London.
Sanne Visser has been shortlisted in the emerging designer of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
