MTTR has designed Zero-Waste MTTR Jean, a zero-waste jean using 100 per cent PIW recycled cotton denim.
Zero-waste denim brand MTTR (short for MATTER) collaborated with future-thinking friends in the denim world to create a groundbreaking jean using 100 per cent PIW recycled cotton denim.
The Zero-Waste MTTR Jean – a first in denim – is designed for disassembly, 100 per cent recyclable and 100 per cent biodegradable.
"If you're making something the world doesn't need, you'd better be sure you're making a difference. That's the idea behind the MTTR jean," said MTTR.
"Because these are all major barriers to a jean being recycled, which for the world's most popular garment is a big problem. This jean is about doing more. With less."
This project has been shortlisted in the sustainable design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
