Highly commended: Retail interior (small) of the year 2025.  Ciszak Dalmas and Matteo Ferrari have designed the Aesop Store Las Salesas interiors in Madrid, Spain.

Aesop Las Salesas, designed by Ciszak Dalmas and Matteo Ferrari, blends and reinterprets Madrid's heritage with modern craftsmanship.

This project draws inspiration from Spanish Modernism, integrating the historic Trencadís mosaic technique throughout key surfaces.

The interplay of light and materiality is enhanced by Catedral glass, Spanish Silvestre Granito and Alpi Walnut Burl wood.

Additionally, the transparent portico dissolves traditional boundaries between the Front of House and the Back of House activities as it offers a layered spatial experience.

The result is a fusion of craft and architectural storytelling that creates a ritual, inviting and immersive space.

Judges comments: "This brand has developed a winning formula for applying its design language to different historic contexts and narratives. This project demonstrates a deep understanding of local material craft, but puts a completely new spin on it."
