Chartier-Corbasson Architectes has restored and redesigned the Olympics Utilities in Paris, France.

Located in the Trocadéro Gardens, this project restores a 1937 bush-hammered pink concrete structure designed by Roger Lardat.

The intervention focuses on a clear material contrast: the systematic use of stainless steel highlights the original flint walls and concrete, further enhanced by strategic artificial lighting.

The restoration involved meticulous technical work, including re-issuing custom glass blocks and hydro-blasting the concrete.

To manage water infiltration from the heavy overhead traffic, internal stainless steel gutters and soffits were integrated.

Finally, a sculptural Corten steel sliding gate, featuring built-in seating, secures the passage while providing a functional waiting area for visitors.
