Wendell Burnette Architects has designed the Floating Meditation Pavilion in Arizona, United States.

The Floating Meditation Pavilion is a 14-square-metre stand-alone structure within the ongoing remodel of a 1960s house at the base of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona.

Designed for a couple – the daughter of first-generation Hindu parents from India and the son from a family of Russian Mountain Jews born along the Caspian Sea north of Tehran – the pavilion supports the family's daily meditation practice.

Located at the southwest corner of an existing pool, the Floating Meditation Pavilion offers sunrise meditation and stargazing.

Clad with vertical copper water pipes, its small wood-framed structure interacts with desert light and becomes one with the mountain.
