The Vernacular Modern has designed Pakha.

Pakha is a critique of how modern cooling has been defined. For decades, comfort has been engineered through speed, rotation and sealed environments.

Pakha challenges this model, reviving a mode of air movement that predates electricity, translating it into a contemporary, mechanised and computerised system.

Operating across scales, Pakha redistributes air through slow, rhythmic motion, delivering immediate comfort even in humid and still conditions.

Developed over four years, this project was significantly advanced through the Godrej Design Lab Fellowship (2025), positioning craft as performance and material as intelligence within a new typology of cooling.
