Arches has designed Sanctum in Bezdonys, Lithuania.

Sanctum is a nature retreat complex designed as a quiet dialogue between architecture and landscape.

Rooted in the traditions of Lithuanian wooden architecture, this project integrates seamlessly into existing forest clearings, preserving mature trees and the site's natural character.

The complex combines retreat spaces, cabins and wellness buildings into a fragmented yet unified composition that balances community and solitude.

Built primarily from timber and CLT, the architecture uses light, texture and framed views to create calm, sensory environments.

"Sanctum is not conceived as an object in nature, but as an atmospheric extension of it," said Arches.
