YOD Group has designed a trio of guesthouses named Hata-Mazanka in Ukraine.

This project was conceived as a modern interpretation of the traditional Ukrainian mazanka – a vernacular rural home historically defined by whitewashed walls, natural materials and thatched roofs.

As a result, the Hata-Mazanka guesthouses reinterpret the traditional Ukrainian rural house through contemporary architecture, combining oversized reed roofs, transparent facades and eco-minimalist interiors immersed in the surrounding landscape.

Following the principles of durability and timeless design, Hata-Mazanka extends the building's long-term relevance and reduces the likelihood of future reconstruction or material replacement.
