We+, Hakuten and Cemedine have designed Loopglue.

Loopglue is a seaweed-derived adhesive co-developed by We+, event production company Hakuten and adhesive manufacturer Cemedine.

Used in exhibition booth woodwork to bond paper facing to wooden panels during construction, Loopglue releases cleanly with water during disassembly – enabling wooden panel reuse without residue or surface damage.

Conventional adhesives make separation difficult, forcing most exhibition components into single-use waste: Loopglue inverts this by incorporating disassembly into the design of the adhesion itself.

Based on sodium alginate extracted from seaweed, Loopglue achieves bond strength equivalent to conventional wallpaper adhesives – while remaining fully water-soluble, proposing a new ecosystem where making and returning coexist.
