The Gordie Howe International Bridge, designed by AECOM and architect Erik Behrens, transforms vital cross-border infrastructure into a powerful civic landmark linking Windsor, Canada and Detroit, United States.

Blending engineering innovation with refined aesthetics, its slender deck, soaring 220-metre towers and fan-shaped cables create a striking, light-filled presence animated by the interplay of structure, light and movement.

Inspired by hockey legend Gordie Howe, the bridge expresses shared cultural identity while strengthening economic connectivity.

By day and night, its dynamic form, moiré cable patterns and lighting artistry by Douglas Coupland establish it as both essential infrastructure and an enduring work of contemporary public art.
