Oficina de Práctica Arquitectónica (OPA) has designed the interiors of Plumbago in Mexico City, Mexico.
Plumbago is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and cultural venue set within a compact infill site in Mexico City's Cuauhtémoc neighbourhood.
Designed by OPA as an "urban greenhouse", this project brings natural light, vegetation and domestic warmth into a calm, open space that contrasts with its surrounding high-rise setting.
Two pitched-roof volumes define the scheme: a translucent polycarbonate structure containing the dining room and bar and a smaller galvanised steel shed housing the kitchen and service areas.
In addition, a crafted palette of brick, timber and planting completes a welcoming environment that supports both daily dining and a wider cultural programme.
