&Daughters has designed the interiors of Jeju in Vancouver, Canada.
Jeju is a 44-seat Korean restaurant in Vancouver that reinterprets the vernacular architecture, rituals and material traditions of Jeju Island through contemporary spatial, lighting and craft interventions.
Rooted in the Korean concept of jeong – a bond of care, generosity and shared experience – this project brings together family, food and hospitality within an interior shaped by memory, communication and gathering.
Suspended hand-thatched light structures reinterpret traditional Jeju houses – while a contemporary jeongnang gate installation creates a daily ritual connecting the life of the restaurant to the street beyond.
