Studio Nirvana has designed Zenhouse in Palakkad, India.

Located on the quieter edges of Palakkad, Zenhouse is a 1,393 square-metre residence inspired by concepts of Zen living to create a space that brings peace of mind to its occupants.

Designed as a holiday home, this project unfolds through a series of inward-looking courtyards – while its built form is carefully shaped in response to the site context and existing vegetation.

The design embraces ideologies of simplicity, harmony and connection to nature, not just interiors or architecture, but to living itself.

In addition, Zenhouse aims to focus on essentialism and purpose, rather than just minimalism alone.
