Guča Arch has designed the interiors of the Swiss Alpine Cabin Reconstruction in Timpel, Switzerland.
The Swiss Alpine Cabin Reconstruction is situated on a steep slope in Timpel, within a valuable natural context.
Balancing strict local heritage regulations with the clients' requirement for an open living space, this project replaces a structurally unsound log cabin while maintaining its original footprint and height.
The design utilises a reinforced concrete base and prefabricated timber components assembled via a helicopter.
The minimalist interior is defined by an open layout structured around a central concrete fireplace volume, maximising spatial flexibility and connection to the landscape within a compact 71-square-metre floor plan.
