Aya Kawabata has designed The Inverted Earth: Fugue for Windows textile.

The Inverted Earth: Fugue for Windows is a series of one-of-a-kind jacquard textiles by Aya Kawabata.

This project explores alternative possibilities for contemporary jacquard weaving beyond conventional industrial repeat systems.

The works use five thread colours, diverse woven structures and integrated selvedges to create layered spatial compositions that challenge the convention of the repeating textile pattern.

The target audience includes collectors, architects, interior designers, galleries, museums and cultural institutions interested in contemporary craft, textile innovation and collectable design.
