The G-Lab is a family home in Belgium that has been opened up by architecture studio TC Plus to create a laboratory for communal living.
During the renovation, the house was opened out to offer a variety of spaces and more fluid boundaries. The family wanted to make a positive gesture to the neighbourhood and inspire methods of co-living with neighbours. While the home is designed to be a private family space when needed, it also has the ability to be shared by the community, with a series of spaces that play with different levels of privacy. A series of curtains create fluid boundaries between the spaces and help to open up the family home to be shared by the surrounding neighbourhood.
