Issa Diabaté
Ivorian architect and designer Issa Diabaté is the co-founder of Koffi & Diabaté Group.
As managing director of Koffi & Diabaté Architects, Diabaté has led a number of local initiatives that deal with African urban issues and address context-oriented problems. As an architect practicing on the continent, Diabaté aims to shed light on important issues as well as the creative solutions required to build the "African city of tomorrow".
The architect has spoken at several conferences and universities, including Design Indaba, the University of Porto and Columbia University's Other Desires conference.
In 2019, Diabaté designed a chair for IKEA's Överallt furniture collection, which was launched at the Design Indaba conference in Cape Town. The collection was included in Dezeen’s top 10 furniture designs of 2019.
