Landscape design studio Shma Company has created a microclimate by adding greenery to a private residence in Bangkok.
Due to rapid urbanisation, green areas are increasingly sacrificed to meet the demand of new residential areas, creating various environmental impacts – importantly, air pollution.
The studio has employed the use of trees for their performance in Forest House, since trees are able to filter particulate matter and produce oxygen.
If this concept is applied throughout the city, the possibility to solve a persistent air problem in the contemporary world will be opened up, and healthy living will be reintegrated again.
This project has been longlisted in the urban house category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
