JDWA has transformed a large attic into contemporary office spaces for Unilever in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Because of the demerger of Unilever's margarine and spreads department into Upfield, the historical Nassaukade site in the centre of Rotterdam had to be reorganised.
The studio transformed a large unused attic and empty floors of the adjacent villa into contemporary office spaces.
This transformation creates an office space with characteristic qualities by merging the old and the new. To create a dynamic workspace JDWA challenged the standard office layout. The meeting rooms are designed as furniture pieces that create zones and the roof is partially replaced with glass offering light and a spectacular view over the river Maas.
