Harewood House Trust gathered 26 designers, brands and studios to explore craft as an approach to gain insight into the materials and stories behind them.

Useful Beautiful: Why Craft Matters was curated by Hugo Macdonald, with exhibition display by Simon Jones Studio and identity design by Studio.Build, and exhibition materials supported by G F Smith for Harewood House Trust.

Harewood House Trust, the charity which runs Harewood House, Grounds, Bird Gardens and Gardens in north Leeds, launched a brand new Biennial in 2019, focused on craft and its relevance to society today.


This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
