N-DC01 Dining Chair

Karimoku Case Study, Photo: Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen

The dining chair N-DC01 is a classic chair, simple in its design and composition, but with a warm and welcoming feel to it.

N-DC01 was born out of the unique collaboration between the Danish architecture and design studio Norm Architects and the Japanese architecture and design studio Keiji Ashizawa Design. Through their joint exploration around the wooden furniture manufacturer Karimoku's many factories, workshopping on sight with the craftsmen, using existing parts and updating others, a hybrid between the Japanese and Scandinavian design aesthetic in form of the dining chair N-DC01 emerged.

This project has been longlisted in the seating design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
