Studio Baku has produced a work that harnesses the latest in technology to showcase the innate sculptural capacity of light in adding shape and drama.
The deceptively simple design sees portable lamps that are made of a mass of glass, without holes or outwardly displayed cables.
The forms use cutting-edge technology such as wireless charging units, touch-activated switches and LED lighting to produce a work that connects with the idea of sculpture as one of humanity's oldest and most fundamental means of expression.
The title '◯ △ ▢' was chosen not as a word, but as a 'form'. It conveys the notion that perception of form is a language that plays a key role in way that human beings think and in turn relate to each other.
