Pedra Liquida Ida has designed the Jardins do Porto Boutique Guest House in Porto, Portugal.
This project reveals the architectural, ornamental and landscape richness that the traditional houses of 19th-century Porto usually hide, bringing them into contemporary times and making them more public.
In the design process, notable elements of the building were recovered – skylight, ceilings and walls in stucco and floors and staircase balustrades in wood.
The refinement of new materials was added, such as an elevator in cast iron, a restaurant glasshouse and interior doors in dark aluminium, contemporary tiles in several restrooms.
The chosen colours and floral motifs seek to integrate the Jardins do Porto Boutique Guest House into its urban and natural milieu.
