Atelier Pulver Architectes has created a shared sense of purpose for a community project in Switzerland.

Located in the centre of Renens, near Lausanne, this project brings together several intergenerational and multifunctional programs to create a welcoming place for the whole neighbourhood.

Designed to complement the neighbourhood, the area was transformed into a welcoming haven of peace thanks to the various pathways around the public facilities designed to encourage walking and socialising. The new kindergarten wooden pavilion dedicated to early childhood care and education is as key to the project as the renovation of an old barn into an auditorium, both offset by the development of community gardens.

The urban layout, architecture and materials have all been carefully selected to create a calm feeling of serenity and to foster a sense of sharing.

This project has been longlisted in the civic building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
