Alliance Project Services has designed Lucky Kwong in Sydney, Australia.

This project is a casual, 25-seat eatery located in Sydney's historic South Eveleigh precinct, inside what was once a locomotive workshop.

The design concept – "A celebration of nature and history" – combines old and new with humble authenticity. The hero materials, cork and steel, were selected to connect the new interior to the heritage of this unique location, as well as due to the cork's significant sustainability benefits.

"Our client, Kylie Kwong, creates 'food to feed the spirit', and connection, harmony and engagement were central requirements for the space," said designers Alliance Project Services. "Our design brings to life her strong values for community, simplicity, and sustainability."

This project has been longlisted in the restaurant and bar interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
