Network of Architecture has designed Monastero in Alto Garda, Italy.

This project was implemented to restore the majestic power of an old monastic centre and highlight its most distinctive elements as the main features of a charming new hotel.

As a result, the monumental spaces of a 17th-century monastery have been brought back to life in Arco – while conserving the charm of the original architecture and its atmosphere of peace and meditation.

The noble Monastery Serve di Maria Addolorata has become a refuge that takes visitors back in time, closely centred around the history and the particular features of this place.

Every construction choice, material and detail have been studied to draw on the majesty of the pre-existing context, exalting it and simultaneously breathing new life into an ancient historic building.

This project has been longlisted in the rebirth project category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
