Guangzhou Xianglin Design has designed Towards Nature, Towards You XLXN Lifestyle Art Space in Guangzhou, China.

This project is located in the Panyu district of Guangzhou city – known to be one of the origins of the Lingnan culture, and its unique local arts and traditional culture have served as an inspiration for the design of the art space, which embodies the water, architectural and cultural elements of Panyu.

The founders wished to bring arts closer to the community through this art studio, thus providing the younger generations with an opportunity to learn from one another and subsequently increasing their passion for both local and international art culture.

As individuals gather underneath the building arches, it's as though they are connecting with one another and with the artworks through a ritual. This depicts that people and arts can be brought together through the use of space.

The designers hoped that visitors will be able to feel and engage within the space, and subsequently, become a part of the art.

This project has been longlisted in the civic and cultural interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
