Wimberly Interiors has designed the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express - Vienna, Budapest and Prague Grand Suites in California, USA.

This project uniquely reflects the spirit of its namesake cities – Vienna, Budapest and Prague – in the three new Grand Suites aboard the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

In collaboration with Belmond, the design and vision of each suite were approached by Wimberly Interiors. This one-of-a-kind restoration project required careful consideration to completely transform – yet honour the heritage – of these three exceptional suites.

The designs were sensitive to the original history of the carriages and each suite is inspired by the 1920s-1930s of the city it's named after. The three new Grand Suites sit within the train's oldest carriage and feature marbled en-suite bathrooms, double beds and a living area with underfloor heating, allowing guests to be transported to a bygone era.

Custom marquetry, colour accents and signature furnishings were meticulously conceputalised and crafted, capturing and preserving the history of the train and transporting guests to a bygone era of grandeur, luxury and romanticism.

This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short-stay interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
