Simpson Studio Architects has designed WagWorks in London, United Kingdom.

This project is the happy place for city dogs, reshaping dog daycare in urban areas. An environment build around dogs' needs, providing daycare, health, training and grooming all under one room.

"The brief was to create a dog daycare that set a new benchmark in the UK and addressed all aspects of a dog's needs and wellbeing," said Simpson Studio Architects. "There were challenges around planning designation and licensing, defining standards for air changes and making sure smells weren’t an issue, designing a solution of indoor 'toileting', the safety of dogs within the environment but also with the added risk of dog napping which had grown exponentially during COVID."

WagWorks has a main reception area, members area and shop, an indoor park, scent den, dog pantry, healthcare clinic and future grooming and wellness facilities that are already under development in the adjacent unit.

This project has been longlisted in the leisure and wellness interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
