Caterina Moretti has designed an elegant light with a design for Graypants that combines traditional materials and techniques from Mexico.

Barro Lamp is a cocoon of clay and hand-blown glass designed to convey the warm embrace of earth and light.

Masterfully executed by craftspeople from the San Bartolo Coyotepec community in Oaxaca, heirs to one of the most traditional and valuable craft techniques in Mexico, each lamp is handcrafted from top to bottom, and is available in two versions: red clay with a transparent shade, and the traditional San Bartolo Coyotepec's black clay with a smoke-coloured shade.

This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
