Estudio MXX has designed the Progreso Museum of Geology in Parque de la Paz, Mexico.
This project has become part of the public realm – considered an extension of the city to its people.
By providing a framework that complements the activities in the public space, the museum reinforces the relationship between the city and its inhabitants. The museum's open square concept reinforces this connection between humans and structure from a unique perspective.
The Progreso Museum of Geology provides spaces open to adaptation, and evolution, contingent on the community's transformation while embracing their ever-changing needs.
The building itself explores a gradual space continuum that showcases juxtapositions of techniques, materials and expressions, left open to interpretation and appropriation.
