The 13,000-square-foot fit-out, within a waterfront housing development, integrates a cafe, bookstore and event space, as well as classrooms, podcast studios and offices on its second level.
Although the largest literary centre in the U.S., space limitations (and a large book inventory) necessitated flexibility in public spaces, where shelves and stages both spin and slide about to accommodate presentations.
On the floor above, focused workspaces are offset by collaboration booths and cosy nooks within a 'social spine'.
