Studio Anna Jach has extended the House With an Eye project in Zurich, Switzerland.
This project is the extension of a 100-year-old semi-detached house in Zurich.
"The original building is a worker's house, constructed in the twenties of the XX century for the employees of the Swiss Post Office," said Studio Anna Jach.
Due to the very modest construction methods back in that time, the house was very poorly insulated and constructed in a very cost-saving way using site concrete and gas-concrete blocks.
The rooms were very small and the demolition of the house was impossible due to the neighbour's constraints and ecological issues.
"The client wished to have more living space for the family of four with special layout solutions," added Studio Anna Jach.
