Vo Trong Nghia Architects has completed its own head office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Known as the Urban Farming Office, the concrete-framed building is adorned with a "vertical farm" of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, reflecting the studio's expertise in plant-filled, low-energy architecture.
The building's glazed southern side is covered in plants, acting as a filter for sunlight and air and creating a shaded microclimate.
Workspaces are arranged around a central atrium, and sliding glass doors provide access to balcony areas for harvesting from the planters. The rooftop garden provides additional space for growing plants.
The project is situated in Thu Duc district, where urbanisation has led to environmental issues.
