Wunder Werkz has designed Brutø, the visual identity for a Michelin Star-winning restaurant that explores Brutalist principles through typography, materiality and spatial behaviour.
Brutø exists at the intersection of culinary, art, service and design: A brash and inventive Michelin Star and green star-winning, 18-seat restaurant concept dedicated to sustainability, the connection with the environment and the origin of the food.
The space is presided over by a humble, concrete wood-fired oven – the heart of the space.
"We sought to honour the space, team and program with a visual system, spatial design and digital presence that valued a pure and sharp design outcome," said Wunder Werkz.
"Our approach was to craft a visual identity as pure and sharp as the restaurant's ethos. Given Brutø's foundation in Brutalist principles, we explored how to translate its architectural intensity into a digital and graphic system."
The result is an identity that doesn't just represent Brutø – it behaves like it. The design, like the space itself, is elemental, honest and unyieldingly present.
This project has been longlisted in the graphic design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
