Viruta Lab has designed the interiors of Casa Gesso, a newly built terraced house in Valencia, Spain.
Casa Gesso is a residential project that translates the revolutionary feminist art of Ángela García Codoñer into architectural form.
Inspired by her iconic series 'Morfologías', 'Misses' and 'Labores', the house serves as a platform for contemplation and social critique.
A central courtyard brings natural light and ventilation, reinforcing the home's connection with nature.
The material palette, dominated by bone-colored porcelain tiles and stained oak, bridges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary techniques.
Throughout its spaces, textures and proportions, Casa Gesso challenges architectural conventions and reinterprets feminist discourse, creating a home that is both a work of art and memory.
This project has been longlisted in the residential interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
