Void Studio has revived and redeveloped Casa Müller, a mixed-use building in Chihuahua, México.
Casa Müller, a 19th-century home in Chihuahua's historic centre, fell into ruin after decades of abandonment.
Void Studio led its rehabilitation, preserving original features like adobe walls, terrazzo floors and vintage windows while introducing new functions: offices, a bakery and a Sotol tasting venue.
This project balanced restoration with innovation, using neutral finishes and reclaimed stone, where a sculptural staircase, flexible layouts and traditional materials integrated old and new.
"More than an architectural revival, [we] aimed to reactivate the neighbourhood socially and commercially, setting an example of how heritage, community use and urban renewal can successfully coexist," said Void Studio.
This project has been longlisted in the mixed use project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
