Material Cultures, in collaboration with Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (UAL), have developed Clearfell House, an innovative demonstrator building in London, England.

Clearfell House is an innovative timber demonstrator building developed by Material Cultures and the students of the Regenerative Construction unit on the M-Arch Architecture Course at Central Saint Martins, UAL, where the building was developed and fabricated by students over five weeks, before being erected on site in Dalby Forest by Yorkshire Oak Frames.

The building was designed with underutilised timber species, with the timber generously donated by Vastern Timber.

In addition, this project was supported by Forestry England, funded by the SOM Foundation and the Forestry Commission's Woods into Management Forestry Innovation Fund.

This project has been longlisted in the small project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
