Invisible Studio has designed the House in an Olive Grove in Corfu, Greece.
House in an Olive Grove is a new raw and elemental house in Corfu designed with an appreciation of local climate, resources and materials.
As a deliberate choice to create an architecture that is flexible for future adaptation – while still providing for the basic needs of shelter, shade, sleep and communal spaces – the house provides a new type of climate-responsive design that is heavily influenced by the landscape that surrounds it.
In terms of structure, there is one main volume, made entirely from concrete and a large shaded living space under a corrugated roof supported on red oxide reinforcement bar trusses, drawing on the skills and materials available locally.
This project has been longlisted in the house rural category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
