MYMYMY Architecture has designed Ochre House, a net-zero off-grid home in Sutton, Australia.

Ochre House is a climate-adaptive, fully off-grid home that reimagines sustainable rural living through restraint, resilience and connection to place.

Designed to exceed bushfire, energy and ecological performance standards, the house generates its own power and water, operates at net-zero and preserves the natural landscape.

Constructed from recyclable, non-toxic materials and detailed with care, it integrates passive thermal strategies and biophilic planning.

Ochre House offers a replicable model for low-impact housing by a small studio, where design performance and material simplicity converge to create enduring, self-sufficient architecture rooted in context.

As a result, Ochre House reimagines rural vernacular architecture while preserving native ecology.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
