Studio Hagen Hall has renovated Pine Heath, a modernist townhouse in Hampstead, England.
Pine Heath is an extensive whole-house renovation and sensitive energy-focused transformation of a modernist townhouse set in the Hampstead Conservation Area of north London, designed initially by Ted Levy, Benjamin & Partners in the late 1960s.
Every element of the house was addressed and considered in detail, from reconfiguring layouts and creating bespoke interiors to upgrading the external envelope and implementing a renewable energy strategy.
The scheme exemplifies Studio Hagen Hall's approach to enhancing and respecting post-war residential architecture, prioritising a rich dialogue between the existing character and contemporary interventions.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
